Sibling Moments

Everytime I take a picture of Tessa, Karchy always wants "in" on the picture. Here's an example: I wanted to take a picture of Tessa (as seen on your left), and then Karchy decides to jump in and smile for the camera. Tessa does NOT look amused.

Karchy's Nighttime Buddies

For some reason, Karchy's interests have changed from balls to various modes of transportations: trucks and trains. I think it has something to do with all the construction outside our place. So, as I was putting him to bed, he decided to bring a train to sleep beside him. This was yesterday night. Tonight, he slept with a little truck. It's so cute because he sometimes hugs these toys like teddy bears! Speaking of teddy bears, he also now sleeps with one who he calls "Fifi." I just had to take a picture of him sleeping with his nighttime buddies!

Yay moments!

Not only did we get to travel this month, but we had a few yay moments!

Yay # 1:

Karchy is off the bottle! Thanks to the stomach flu, Ray and I were scared of giving Karchy milk, so we just kept on using the sippy cup to give him juice and water. Although Karchy kept on asking for his "nana" as he calls his milk, we were tough and did not give it to him. After a couple days, he didn't ask for it anymore. And that is how Karchy is off the bottle. Yay for us and Karchy!

Yay # 2:

Karchy and Tessa now have a routine! Ray is not really into routine, but I am! So I'm SOOO glad that I now have a routine I can rely on. I heart routines!

Yay # 3:

Tessa does not need to be carried all the time anymore. She's been Ferberized. I know some people are against this method of crying out, but I'm now a convert! Not only does Tessa get the sleep she needs, but I am now able to do things like blog!

That's all for now! I'll try to blog more consistently from now on. I'll also try to take more pictures. I haven't done that in awhile!

Jerseybound!

These past few months have been crazy for me! I found it really overwhelming to take care of the two kids, so we decided to go to New Jersey, my home away from home! Although the airplane ride was quite brutal (Karchy caught the stomach flu the day before we left!) and although Karchy's stomach flu infected half the household in Jersey (Yay, Sissa, Tita Lycette, and Koley for not catching it!), the trip was fantastic!

Here are the reasons why it was:

Karchy got some quality time as an "only child" again. Ray and I were able to take him out, while Team Jersey (Thanks Tita Lycette and Sissa) babysat Tessa.

I got to spend my 28th in one of my favourite places on earth! Notice that not a lot of people could join me in blowing out my candles. Karchy was sleeping. Tito Mike and Yowen caught Karchy's stomach flu. Tita Lycette was taking the picture. Oh well, more Cold Stone Creamery ice cream cake for us! Yay!

Ray was off for a week, so we got to spend lots of time together as a family.

Tessa rode her first airplane ride to her Mama's home away from home!

Tessa got lots of attention, something that is really hard to give her when I'm busy with Karchy!

Karchy got to play with his Titas!

We got to taste Tita Lycette's cooking and meet the most calm chihuahua ever. Yay, Koley!

Ray and I got to spend some quality time in New York, visiting Serendipity. Frrrozen hot chocolates...yummmmy! Ray and I even got to watch a movie while we were in NJ. We haven't watched a movie since before Tessa was born!

Ray and I were also able to meet up with our close friends who just happened to be vacationing in NYC. I figured this will be the only time I could "vacation" with them without the kids.
It was so great vacationing in New Jersey. Although we were tired by the end of it and happy to be back to our usual routine, it was worth the long journey to see our family and spend time with them and with each other.
